What's new at Mecca - April 2025

Have you been too busy to scour the shelves of Mecca and find something new and exciting? Well, strap in because there's quite a few additions to cover. Here's what's new at Mecca:

Glossier 'You Doux', 'You Rêve' and 'You Fleur'

Glossier creates fragrances that act as 'skin scents'; fragrances that sit close to your body and mimic your natural body odor, just improved. These three new flankers each take a different approach to 'enhancing' your skin. Doux is a smoky, resinous scent. Rêve features a prominent plum note, and Fleur utilizes apricot instead of plum. They all share a musky ambrette accord with the original.

Jo Malone 'Frangipani Flower' 

Jo Malone creates fragrances that are at once, simple, but simultaneously masterfully created. Frangipani Flower is no exception to this rule. The fragrance takes the frangipani flower accord and adds lemon and solar notes to highlight our social understanding of frangipani; sunny days, picnics outdoors, threading a fallen flower behind our ear. 

Maison Francis Kurkdjian 'Kurky'

No brand shall escape the TikTok 'gourmand girly' craze. Kurky is Maison Francis Kurkdjian's take on a gourmand. They combine tutti frutti, gummy bear candy notes with musk to create a tooth-rotting fragrance that's not exclusively appropriate for high-school classrooms.

Yves Saint Laurent 'Libre L'Eau Nue'

This is Yves Saint Laurent's first fragrance that is alcohol-free. They haven't strayed too far from the original Libre, so if you were a fan of Libre and you're looking for a more skin-friendly version, or if you want to try Libre but don't like the alcohol in spray perfumes, this one might be of interest to you.

Maison Crivelli 'Safran Secret'

About as far from gourmand as you can go, Maison Crivelli's Safran Secret has hit our shores, just in time for winter. The fragrance is a warm spice-bomb with blonde woods and lots of spicy notes, including saffron. 

Vilhelm Parfumerie 'Chimilka', 'Sun Cities' and 'Great Lord'

These three fragrances comprise the Triptych Collection from Vilhelm Parfumerie, described by the house as "Three unique perfumes inspired by a legendary man who could have changed the world. Three opulent perfumes dedicated to greatness and ultimate experiences." They are all united in being fruity leather fragrances with a spicy saffron facet. However, they each have a singular defining note; Chimilka with peach, Sun Cities with pineapple and Great Lord with plum.
